What it is (and what changed its name)
Thailand Privilege — what for years was called "Thailand Elite" — is a membership program that entitles you to a long-stay visa. The difference from everything else: no age, income, employer or education requirement. You pay the fee for the tier you choose and get residency for that period, plus concierge services, assistance and airport fast lanes.
The tiers
The program is organized into tiers, with rising duration and price. Roughly, the 2026 range:
| Tier | Duration | Approximate price |
|---|---|---|
| Entry | 5 years | from ≈ €17,000 |
| Mid-range | 5–15 years | ≈ €30,000–75,000 |
| Top | 20 years | up to ≈ €130,000 |
The higher tiers add benefits (more services, included companions, golf and spa privileges). The exact figures and each tier's name change over time, so they're confirmed at the point of purchase; the price range and logic stay consistent.
What it is not
- It's not a tax regime. If you spend 180 days or more, you're a tax resident and pay under the general rules. Privilege doesn't exempt you from anything.
- It's not a work permit. It doesn't let you take a job at a Thai company (that's what the Non-B is for).
- It's not permanent residency. It's long-duration, but capped to the period of the tier.
Does it pay off?
The math is simple: Privilege pays off for people who don't cleanly fit another route and who value paying for having no requirements. For everyone else, there's almost always something better:
| If you're… | Usually better off with |
|---|---|
| A nomad / provable remote worker | DTV (€270) |
| Over 50 with solid finances | Non-O (€70) |
| Very high income | LTR (€1,300, 10 years) |
| No clean fit and don't want requirements | Privilege |
How we process it
Like any route, it starts with the free assessment: first we confirm Privilege really is your best option (often it isn't), and if it is, we support you through the membership purchase and the rest of the move — flight, arrival and apartment. Our management fee is fixed, 1.200 €, whatever the visa.
Frequently asked questions
What is Thailand Privilege?
A membership program that gives a residency visa of 5 to 20 years with no age or income requirements, plus concierge and fast lanes. Price around €17,000 to €130,000 depending on tier.
Does it exempt you from taxes?
No: it's a visa, not a tax regime. With 180+ days you're a tax resident and pay under the general rules, with the treaty in play. The advantage is convenience, not a tax exemption.
Does it pay off for me?
For people who don't fit other routes and prefer paying to avoid requirements. If you work remotely, the DTV is far cheaper; at 50, the Non-O; with high income, the LTR.
