01 · Why Thailand

You're not leaving
to escape.
You're leaving for numbers.

Almost everyone who makes the jump does it for the same reasons, and it's rarely just one: you pay less tax, you live for a lot less, and you trade winter for thirty degrees. Three reasons that add up.

01 · Tax

In Spain, income tax up to 47%

0%*

Almost zero, and legal

Thailand only taxes what you bring into the country (territorial taxation): what you leave outside isn't taxed. That's why our clients pay an average of €300 in taxes a year — not a percentage of their whole income — with no wealth tax, and crypto on local exchanges exempt until 2029.

The tax guide

02 · Cost of living

Living well, per month

1.150 €

Your money goes twice as far

What barely covers survival in Spain buys a comfortable life in Thailand: from 1.150 €/month in Chiang Mai up to 1.550 € right in central Bangkok, rent, food, transport and health insurance included.

Calculate my move

03 · Life

Private health insurance, per month

50 €

Climate, healthcare and calm

Thirty degrees almost all year round, top-tier private hospitals at a fraction of the price, safe cities and a Spanish community already there. It's not just spending less: it's living better.

Where to live

02 · The problem

Moving isn't
the problem.
The paperwork is.

Deciding to move to Thailand takes five minutes. What stops people is the months that follow: which of the seven visa types is yours, which consulate handles it, which document expires before the next one arrives.

Most people don't stay behind because they don't want to go. They stay behind because they open the first official website, see a 2013 PDF in Thai, and close the tab. Bexpat exists so you never have to open that tab.

On your own

  • Seven visa types and nowhere that tells you which one is yours.
  • 2016 forum posts contradicting each other.
  • A flight you book before the visa is even approved.
  • You land at 6:40am with no idea which taxi won't rip you off.
  • You sign a rental contract in Thai you can't read.
  • Months of paperwork and the feeling something's slipping through.

With Bexpat

  • One call and you know exactly which visa is yours.
  • We prepare and file the application.
  • The flight gets booked once the visa is confirmed.
  • Someone holding a sign with your name at the terminal.
  • Apartment viewed, negotiated and the contract translated before you sign.
  • One point of contact. The whole way.

03 · The process

Four steps.
One arrival.

No packages, no tiers, no extras. This is what we do, in this order, until you're asleep in your own bed in Bangkok.

01 · Paperwork

Visa

We look at your case — work, income, age, whether you're moving alone or with family — and choose the right route. We prepare the application, file it, and let you know when it's ready.

You provide: your passport

02 · Ticket

Flight

Once the visa is confirmed, we find and book the flight. Never before — so you don't pay twice or lose the ticket if the process runs long.

You provide: a date

03 · Arrival

Airport

You land and someone from Bexpat is waiting with your name. They take you to your accommodation, with a Thai SIM card and the first few things sorted.

You provide: showing up

04 · The keys

Apartment

We view apartments with you, negotiate the price, and translate the contract before you sign anything. You walk away with the keys.

You provide: choosing

04 · Housing

Rent or buy.
We're with
you either way.

The fourth step is the one that matters most: where you're going to live. Doesn't matter if you're coming to try a year of renting or you already know you're staying and want to buy — the hard part is the same, and it's the part we handle.

Option A

Rent

What almost everyone does the first year. We search based on your area and budget, view apartments with you, negotiate the price, and translate the contract before you sign. No landlord commission — we work for you.

Option B

Buy

For when you already know the lay of the land. We advise you on what you can actually buy as a foreigner, review the property and the building, and support you through due diligence and signing with a Thai lawyer.

Before anything

We'll tell you straight

If your plan doesn't fit what Thai law allows, we tell you on the first call — not after you've put down a deposit.

What nobody tells you before you come: in Thailand, a foreigner can't buy land in their own name. You can own a condominium, within the building's foreign-ownership quota; for a house with land, you go through long-term leasehold or other routes, each with its own fine print. That's why the first thing we do is tell you which option is real for your case — before you fall in love with a villa you won't be able to put your name on.

The lifestyle level only affects rent (a more modest or more upscale place): food, transport, insurance and utilities stay similar no matter how you live. Apartment size is set by who's moving — starting around 35 m² for one person.

They're already there.

I'd been saying for two years that I was leaving. What kept holding me back was the visa, and they sorted it in six weeks. I landed in Bangkok and someone was waiting for me with my name on a sign. Sounds silly, but that's when it hit me it was real.

We moved with two kids and thought it would be impossible. The apartment was the hardest part: we saw seven, they translated the contract for us, and we found a clause that would've cost us a fortune. That alone made it worth it.

What I appreciated most was talking with someone who'd already made the move. You can ask twenty dumb questions without feeling stupid. A year later I still message them when I don't understand a bill.

09 · FAQ

What everyone
asks first.

Why only Thailand?

Because doing one country right is harder than doing ten averagely. We know the consulates, the neighborhoods, the landlords and the real timelines. The moment you open a second destination, you start improvising on both. If you're looking at Portugal or Dubai, we're not your agency, and we'll tell you that on the first call.

How long does it actually take?

About eight weeks from deciding to landing, and most of that is waiting on the consulate. If your case is simple it can be less; if there are kids or a company involved, count on three or four months. We never promise a date that depends on someone else.

Do I need a job there?

Not necessarily. There are routes for people working remotely for clients abroad, for retirees, and for people going to study. Which one is yours depends on your situation — that's exactly what we look at in the initial assessment, before you pay anything.

What happens if the visa is denied?

We redo the application and resubmit it at no extra cost. That's why we don't book the flight until the visa is confirmed — most people who lose money in this process do it by buying the ticket too soon.

Do you pay less tax living in Thailand?

In many cases, yes. Thai income tax runs in brackets from 0 to 35%, but it's territorial: only what you bring into the country (remitted income) is taxed, so in practice a lot of people end up paying an average of €300 a year. There's no wealth tax, and crypto on local exchanges is exempt until 2029. It depends on your case, the 180-day rule, and the Spain–Thailand tax treaty. We break it down in the tax guide and in what counts as remitted money.

What DON'T you do?

We don't set up companies. We don't sell property or take a commission from the landlord — we work for you, not for them. We don't find you a job. And we don't cover any destination other than Thailand.

How much does it cost?

Our fee is 1.200 €, fixed and the same for everyone. You pay the visa at cost: the official fee from your embassy, which runs from 35 to 270 € depending on the type — the calculator breaks it down. The flight, the apartment deposit and the rest, you pay directly to whoever it's owed to: we don't add any markup or commission. The first call is free, and on it we tell you whether your case is viable.

Direct answers

Bexpat, in short.

What is Bexpat?

An agency that moves Spaniards to Thailand start to finish: visa, flight, airport pickup and apartment search, for a fixed fee of 1.200 €.

Who is it for?

Spaniards who want to move to Thailand: remote workers, retirees, families, and people starting an online business. Only Thailand, no other destination.

How much does it cost to move with Bexpat?

1.200 € fixed fee, the same for everyone. The visa is paid separately, at cost (35–270 € depending on type, no markup).

What does Bexpat NOT do?

It doesn't set up companies, sell property, take landlord commissions, or find employment. It only handles the move to Thailand.
